Additional Information on the Waukesha Program
Classes meet year round on Mondays/Thursdays from 1:00 to 2:00 PM or 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the YMCA of Central Waukesha County. The program is offered through a coordinated effort with the Movement Disorders Program at Froedhert & The Medical College of Wisconsin and the YMCA of Central Waukesha County.
Each class is guided by 3 - 4 staff instructors: one P.T. and 2 -3 Fitness Instructors. Each time the class meets participants spend 30 min. on the treadmill under supervision of staff and 30 min. performing floor based stretching and strengthening exercises.
For questions about our program, contact Robyn Pearce at 262-542-2557.
Comments from a Waukesha class participant, Tom F.
"I've been attending the Waukesha ex. class for 2 1/2 years. I was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease eight years ago. I like coming to exercise with a group of people who have similar challenges that I have. I greatly appreciate the support of the staff. The class has slowed down the progression of my Parkinson Disease thru exercise. It has helped my walking quite a bit."
