Treadmill Training
People with PD often have problems with walking long distances and doing transitional movements such as getting on and off beds, toilets, cars and chairs. They also have likelihood of falls. Therapy interventions are developed to help the client gain or retain independence. The objective of the classes is to gain or maintain movement in all directions. The Cochrane articles below outline treadmill walking and physical therapy intervention. Movement intervention is not successful unless it lasts over time.
